Each year The Academies facilitates UB’s participation in the “Pinwheels for Peace” program. This is an expressive way to support the United Nations International Day of Peace, which is observed each year on September 21. Please note that this fall, UB will observe this day on Monday, September 22 to ensure that all members of our campus community can participate.
Students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to stop at a variety of sites across campus to make a paper pinwheel. The pinwheels are then installed throughout the day in front of the Student Union to serve as a visual representation of our global community's hope for peace. For more information on UB and the Academies' comittment to the UN's International Day of Peace, check out the video to the right.
This program is only possible with the help of many volunteers! If you are interested in helping to staff one of the Academies tables, please complete the volunteer form.
